INCIDENT UPDATES FROM THE JEFFERSON POLICE
The City of Jefferson Has enacted a false alarm ordinance. This ordinance is designed to reduce the number of false alarms that the Police Department responds to. False alarms represent a large portion of call for service for the Police Department. the City Council recognizes the problems involved with installing and maintaining an alarm system therefore they have included 2 false alarm before a fine is assessed. The fine scale increases with the number of false alarms that the police department responds to at a given residence or business. Most alarm companies have a system to cancel false alarms. This usually just involves a phone call to the alarm company and a password. Please refer to your alarm provider for instructions on this process. Below you will find a link to the full Ordinance as Drafted by the City Council. For More Information Contact: |
