Quality of Life

        The goal of the Quality of Life department is to work with the businesses and the citizens of Jefferson to maintain a higher quality of life and to help maintain property values. This is accomplished by working with business owners and home owners to educate them about the city ordinances, and help them stay in compliance. 

As we at the Jefferson Police Department begin to undertake this role of Quality of life we realize that the city has grown over the past several years. We have decided that the best approach is to begin working on the more noticeable issues around town. These will include: Junk or Abandoned Vehicles,  accumulation of junk / Outdoor sanitation, and the City of Jefferson's sign ordinance. 

All of the city ordinances are available in a searchable format online at municode and all of Georgia's state law's are available online at lexis-nexis. 

The International Property Maintenance code has been adopted by the City of Jefferson and is used in conjunction with the City Codes of Jefferson.  It is available here
