Criminal Investigations

The Jefferson Police Department Criminal Investigations Division (C.I.D.) consists of one sergeant and one detective.  C.I.D. is responsible for following up on initial reports taken by patrol officers that require further investigation.

C.I.D. typically work a Monday through Friday schedule with an on-call status to assist patrol when requested.  The Criminal Investigation Division processes crime scenes to collect and preserve evidence that may be used later in the prosecution of the offender.
